Well now, that was fast! Here we are with 7 full Dash Away Weekends and a Taste of Dash Away behind us. Seems like we just arrived in this beautiful land with a huge assignment ahead. Now, we stand on the shore of reflection, watching the water move, never fully knowing how far the ripples will go, but certain that God moved powerfully - not just in the ladies to whom we ministered, but in us as well.
Dash Away #30 was the perfect bookend to our trip which started 2 months ago in the Isle of Lewis. Fifteen ladies joined us at The Compass Christian Centre in Perthshire. You may remember that we used this venue previously for our second weekend of the trip. Compass is located in what is considered the "Heart of Scotland." Sounds like an appropriate place to finish up, don't you think?
The ladies were really a delight. All of them came hungry for more of God's Presence, breakthrough and healing and they were not disappointed. On Sunday morning, we allowed them space to share testimony of what God had done throughout the weekend. Following testimonies, we had a time of worship in song. While leading "Joy" by Housefires, a full out dance party broke out! Joy was everywhere. We really wish we could have captured that moment in a video or at very least a photo, but we were too busy celebrating. You'll have to use your imagination. :o)
Here is just a tiny nibble of what God did:
"God opened my eyes to areas if my life that I needed to address to break down strongholds that are holding me back from my full potential of life with Him."
"A long season of mourning and heaviness, and a spirit of despair, have been exchanged for the oil of gladness and a garment of praise. What it means to say that God is my Abba, Father, is sinking deeper and becoming more of a reality for me. Jesus is beginning to show me what my whole and healed heart will look like."
One of the great privileges we had this past weekend was the company of our dear friend and UK Advisor, Cynthia Hayes. Cynthia is well known in certain circles here in Scotland. She carries a peaceful yet powerful anointing. She came as our prayer minister, however, her presence alone represented great support and strength under and around us as we entered our final weekend of ministry. After the bumps and bruises we've experienced along the way, this was especially welcomed. We love her to bits and are so honored that she was able to join us.
We are now based just across the River Tay from Dundee, and since several of the ladies who attended the weekend are local to this area, we are delighted to get to spend some more time with them. On tap this week is some sightseeing along with dinner and a movie with a few of them. It's unusual for us to get to know the ladies outside of a Dash Away, so we are especially grateful for this opportunity.
Our hostess, Dianne Stevenson, has taken us around to some of the local sights this week. The beauty here is stunning (photos do not do it justice!), and the weather, not too awfully unbearable (Depending on when you ask us. Ha!) We had several straight days of rain last week, which, I have to say, gets really, really old! Even the locals get a bit disgruntled by it. So far, however, this week has brought us better weather, and even some sun (!) and we are thankful!
We thought you might like to see a few photos from St. Andrews and Balmerino from earlier this week. St. Andrews is the birthplace of golf, and also home to prestigious St. Andrews University, where future King, Wills, met his beautiful Princess, Kate. Balmerino is a tiny village just down the road from Newport-On-Tay, where we're staying. It is home to the ruins of an Abbey, which, all these years later, really does feel like a thin space between heaven and earth. If these walls could talk...
Thank you so much for reading our blog over the past 2 months. We may or may not be posting for a couple of weeks as our Dash Aways are now finished. We will be spending the next 2 weeks recuperating, resting, processing, and reflecting before attending the CLAN Gathering on the west coast of Scotland July 9-14. If something comes up of note, however, we'll definitely let you know!
Here's to a glorious finish and an amazingly faithful and good, good Father!!
